What To Expect - The Pool Construction Process

Design & Permitting

The first step in the construction process will be meeting with us to design and render your dream backyard oasis. Once we are under contract, we create and submit your permit packet to the appropriate municipality. Processes and review times vary by city and county.

Layout, Dig & Steel

Once the permit is approved, the first step in the construction process is to remove all grass and landscape from around the construction site. Your pool will then be laid out using wooden forms. Next, your pool will be dug to the designed depth and size. Finally, steel bars are bent and tied into place to create the shell of your pool. At this time, water features, drains, or spa jets will be pre-plumbed, if applicable.

Gunite & Rough Grade

Gunite is applied to the steel and hand carved to create the shell of your pool. The rough grade includes removing the forms and grading the ground around the shell.

Plumbing

Once the rough grade is complete, the plumber installs the remainder of the plumbing lines around the swimming pool and sets all of the swimming pool's equipment.

Tile & Coping

Once the plumbing is completed and has passed inspection, the waterline tile is installed around the perimeter of the swimming pool. The coping is the deck material around the perimeter of the pool that is placed above the tile.

Footers

If you are getting a screen enclosure, the concrete footers will be poured.

Electrical

Our certified electrician will ensure there is adequate power to your swimming pool equipment.

Deck Installation

This is one of the most exciting steps in the process. Your chosen deck material will be installed, signaling that the construction process is almost complete.

Safety Feature

A safety feature is required by code. The most common safety features are a screen enclosure, pool code fence, or child-safety fence.

Pool Finish & Fill

Your pool interior finish will now be applied to the interior walls of your pool. We must wait 24 hours before starting the water filling process. The water should be filled until the waterline is halfway up your perimeter tile.

Pool Start-up, Pool School, & Final Inspection

We will get your pool chemistry ready for your family to swim! We will also provide you with a tutorial and resources on water chemistry and pool equipment.
